April 2025 – Candice’s Shenanigans

Imperial Challenge
April is where biking season meets ski season in Summit County, and nothing exemplifies that more than the Imperial challenge. I participated for the first time, and you can see from my face while carrying my skis that it was hard… despite the beauty of the day.

I counterbalanced that type 2 fun with some type 1 fun on a trip to Ojo Caliente in New Mexico for a girls weekend. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway.

Spring Break was filled with camping in Fruita, lots of biking (including some surprisingly impressive performances from my children), and lots of smores!

We rounded out April with an Easter celebration at my aunt and uncle’s house in Longmont where they managed to hide over 100 eggs for the kids. I guess there are a lot of kids these days. Now we’re hunkering down for mud season, and enjoying our moose friends, and we found a cool spot for the family called the Sports Buffet in Silverthorne where I think Narendra had the most fun shooting zombies.
