Deed Restricted / Affordable Housing in Summit County
If I were to ask you the percentage of Summit County locals who are currently living in deed-restricted housing, what would you guess? 5%, 10%, 25%? The number, according to my calculations, is around 15.5%. This housing base is keeping many people here who run our...
July 2023 Summit County Market Report
I have been watching one statistic closely because I think it best tells the state of our current market: Number of Sold Residential Properties. This metric is the real time data of how quickly properties are moving. In the past year and a half, short-term rental restrictions have been instituted in 5 jurisdictions in Summit County: Breckenridge, Frisco, Dillon, Silverthorne and Summit County Unincorporated areas (aka, properties not within a town’s limits). Only Dillon and Blue River have continued to allow STR licenses to be issued without caps on the number of total licenses.

Market Report: June 1, 2023
The real estate market in Summit is slow. Of note, May only had 66 closings. Only one month since January of 2015 was less and that was January 2023 at 60 closings. Wow is all I can say about that. In the last 30 days 85 properties in Summit have gone under contract....
ARE MORTGAGE FEE SHIFTS A NEW FORM OF SOCIALISM?

This year, 2023, is a reappraisal year in Colorado. Colorado property owners have most likely already received their new valuations. In Summit County, those valuations are 60-70% higher than two years ago! Most Denver metro areas are seeing around 30-40% increases....
