2025 Summit County Tax Assessments

We’re starting to see our 2025 tax assessments come in the mail. These assessments are the county’s valuation of your property on which your property taxes are based. The rates for the taxes are set, but the assessed value of each property is based on a formula. The formula evaluates comparable properties sold in the 2 years prior to this tax year, so for this year it will be January 1, 2023 -June 30, 2024.

You have until June 8, 2025 to appeal this.

We saw the highest number of appeals back in early 2023 when assessed values increased rapidly due to home price increases following COVID. We don’t anticipate as many appeals this year, but it is still worth checking your assessed values to make sure your assessment is in line with your expectations.

Thus far, we are seeing our assessments in line with the last assessment round. We are seeing some taxes go up slightly and some go down based on what is happening in the local region.
