April 2026 – Candice’s Shenanigans
We started April celebrating Easter with an egg hunt at home and with extended family at my aunt and uncle’s house. We also did some mountain biking at the Frisco peninsula getting our bikes out.
Then we took a Spring Break trip to camp at 18 Road in Fruita and stayed at an Airbnb in Grand Junction with 3 other families. Yes, we had 16 bikes at the camp site! Eloise and I got out on a one-on-one ride where she came across a 3 foot snake in the trail. It led to a pounding heart and a good story, but thankfully nothing else!
I also went to see Mel Robbins on tour. I love her podcast and her insight for health as women age and general mindset, and it was cool to hear her in person talk about taking control of our lives. We’re also entering lemonade stand season - which turns out is a lot of work for parents, a lot of kindness from strangers, and a lot of money for the kids who do very little of the work. However, I was impressed with the sale skills of the kids - maybe a little too aggressive on Main Street, but will serve them well later in life.
Our friend’s Mick and Nell came over for dinner, which was a big highlight! They are the people who always have something new up their sleeve… and they run the Timberline Motel in Leadville which I highly recommend checking out next time you are there. Their son Murray and Eloise were both representing Cherry Creek Soccer from the 1980’s!
Lastly, we embraced AI and asked it to show us what the kids would look like grown up based on photos of them and us…. It’s kind of scary, but also very interesting! We will check back in 15 years to see how accurate it was!
That’s all, reach out with questions! Thanks!
Candice
