June 2026 – Candice’s Shenanigans
June started in Italy, where Narendra and I spent our 10 year wedding anniversary (without kids, thanks Jon and Jill)! We visited a few areas of the Dolomites and Venice and surrounding areas. It was nice to be a tourist in another town and appreciate what our guests feel like in Summit County. I was surprised by how many resorts there were and how there were lifts and trails everywhere. We hiked 25 miles and biked 38 miles (in Italy’s version of a quadruple bypass event) and then we got to eat the delicious Italian food and drink a lot of Prosecco. It was very nice to escape the day to day reality and remember the simple things in life that we work so hard for are often right there in front of us wherever we go: nature, relationships, and community.
June also included a visit from my good friend Mara who was driving through town, lots of baseball with Kolton, Winter Park Blues Fest with Jessie, and Summit County’s favorite summer events: Monday locals night free concerts at Dillon amphitheatre, Frisco’s Rock the Dock event at the marina, Mountain Goat races with Weezy, and 4th of July celebrations (and exhaustion). It was great to see those of you who could join our park event after the Frisco parade too!
